The personal computer committee consists of two persons and is responsible for the maintenance of over 30 personal computers and a lot of software programs. The committee is also engaged in the maintenance of a printernetwork consisting of three printers and the network connecting the computers to the Unix server of the faculty of Chemical Technology of the University of Twente.
The procurement of new hardware and software is done in consultation with the committee.
Besides the committee tries to divide the computers among the members of the Process Development Course as fair as possible. Starting-point when dividing the computers is a minimum of one 486 computer for each two members, and a private computer for members who need one for their individual year assignment.
The main projects of the PC committee in 1995 and 1996 were:
